Ron Mueck is very awesome to me! I find his work to be as hyper-realist as they say. It is almost grotesque in a beautiful way; it is so "in the moment" and for lack of a better word...real.

He is an Australian man who works in the United Kingdom. He was born in 1958 to two toy makers. Ron had the power of making imagination and dolls eal. He began a large moving part of his career working with puppets and directing on a childrens program. He also worked on special effects movies for years such as "Labyrinth" as one of his jobs before he went into making models for commercializing but it was only bits and pieces of models. He eventually became an artist in the fine arts and sculpture area creating these life size and realistic, as well as, in the moment sculptures.
I was really interested to know the mediums he used to do such a good life like image and on such a large scale.
He uses items such as: Fiberglass resin, silicone, polyester resin, human hair among other things of course.

Below is a cool video about the installation of his work, "The Bed."

To find more information on him, these are the main sites I used...http://www.oddee.com/item_95063.aspx and  http://www.coolhunting.com/culture/ron-mueck-in-be.php and http://www.boredpanda.com/13-hyper-realistic-sculptures-by-ron-mueck/
